Pinocchio... I've got no strings

At Colton's school the Performing Arts are very important. They have four different performances each year. This time the theme is.... Magic! Colton is in the performance group called Mighty Mites. They did a Pinocchio routine to the song I've Got No Strings. I wish I could post the performance here but it is to long. Colton made the cutest Pinocchio! Good job COLTON! I am so pround of him.

Colton's Message to family and friends......

I was at school on Friday afterschool at 5 o'clock. I had to go back to school to do my pinocchio song and show. I felt scared. The lights burned my eyes out. My Mom was going to go to the show on Saturday but my Mom came on Friday. When I first saw my Mom on the front row, I freaked out in a good way and I had a good show. Love, Colton

Colton Says....

July 15, 2009 ~ The Economy
I usually buy the good healthy bread full for grains but the other week I had to buy the cheep 99cent bread with no flavor and little nutrition! I fix a sandwich for Colton and I for lunch. Colton took a bit and said, "Mom, why did you buy this bread?" I told him that was what I could afford this week. He then said, "With the way the economy is people can't even afford good bread!" This amused me so I asked,”What do you know about the economy?" He replied rather indignantly, "I watch the news with you. I listen to the important stuff and then I go play."

January 15, 2009 ~ Frost Bite
Colton and I were walking through the temple to visit a friend. It was dark and cold. We stared to talk about when Colton and his cousin Rachel was playing in the snow in Utah. I told Colton that I was so afraid that he would get frost bite because he was out there so long. Colton must have not know what frost bite was because he said, ".... Oh Mom,.... I don't need that, I’m just a kid." I was confused so I asked him what it was that he did not need. He replied, "You know, that thing you just said, frost bite."

October 2008~The Jitter Bug Song
We were watching a dance program and they played a certain Jitter Bug Song.
Colton said, “hey my dance teachers has that song, but we don’t do those moves.”
“Oh, really, Why?”, I asked
“Well you have to hold a girls hand.”
“Oh, is that against the rules at school?”
“No, that is allowed but US boys don’t want to hold a girls hand.”

December 06, 2008 ~ Highway Robbery
The other day I was helping my mother look for a certain DVD on ebay. They wanted way too much for the DVD so I said that it was highway robbery…. Later that night Colton and I were looking for another item on ebay and it too was too much. Colton remembered what I said about the item earlier that day and said, “That is robbery on the go.” He was trying to say “Highway Robbery”

"Focus on driving"
This morning I was driving Colton to his Aunt Starr's house to be babysat. We were listening to music in the car and it was good dance type of music. I said to Colton, "boy, we could have a party in the car and dance." Colton said, "do you want to get in an accident?" I said, "no" then he said, "you better focusing on driving! My friend Joshua got in an car accident with his older bother driving and the side of the car came all the way in and touched him." Colton is so wise and serious for his years. 10/10/08

"Professional"
Colton wanted a Star Wars costume for Halloween. I offered to make him one. He replied."Mom, I want a "professional" Costume. I guess MY sewing is not professional enough for him..... so I made him earn half of the price for the "professional" costume! And he was earned $20.00 for the costume! 09/30/08

"Tax"
It is a standard procedure for me to take a "bite" out of Colton's popcicle, sandwhich or any other food item that I am serving him. When he questions me about the bite I took, I always tell him that the bite is payment of "tax". So the other day he asked if I wanted a popcicle and I said yes. He opened my popcicle and took a bite then proudly proclaimed, "That's my change!" He could not remember the word tax. I laughed so hard. 09/29/08

"A Fly"
There was a fly in the house tonight, and I was chasing it around trying to kill it. I was complaining about the fly and Colton said in a very informational kind of way, “Flies only live 14 days…. Don’t worry Mom, we only have 13 more days.” It was so funny. I asked Colton where you learned this information and He you said, “Mrs. Ramsey told me.” She was his 1st grade teacher.
